Still Simming for a Cure
Hi Everyone!
So we had a bit of a stumbling block with the Fundraiser. TSR does not have the resources to provide a system that could limit downloads and take donations. This is completely understandable. I thank TSR for their consideration!
I will continue to use this blog as my outlet for the cause, however. It is very important that everyone understands that TSR is not involved within this Fundraiser in the least.
Online is a very tricky place to hold fundraisers. People are constantly scamming the system and making honest attempts to provide aid extremely difficult. The idea that someone would abuse a charity for a cause like Diabetes is truly heart breaking. So, I need you to take me at my word that this is a legitimate call for content for a fundraiser.
I have purchased the domain, "SimmingForaCure.com" and this will be where all the content for donation will be placed for download. However, the method of donation and download has changed.
Due to my limited knowledge in website design, there is no way I can create a system that will limit downloads to 100 and force a donation per download. So, I must take a different approach and make it a Love Offering donation instead.
Here is how my little mind sees it working:
The website will be a custom content website for TS2 and TS3.
Artists will submit there content to the website for download.
The artists understand that the content is meant to be downloaded for free.
On various places throughout the website there will be links and banners asking users to donate as little as 1 dollar to help fight diabetes.
Every day the Donation Till amount will be updated on the front page.
As a sign of good faith, I will be donating 250$ immediately.
Now I need the community's help!
I need an experienced web developer to donate his or her skills.
I could really use some content designers. (Skins, clothes, hair, items, etc.)
I can build lots, but I can't build an entire sites worth. If anyone wants to help with lots, that would be great.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THIS IS NOT A TSR PROJECT. THIS BLOG CONTINUES WITH THE PERMISSION OF TSR, BUT TSR IS IN NO WAY AFFILIATED WITH IT.
Please leave a comment if the spirit moves you to help or if you are interested in learning more.
Thank you all so much,
Matthew Hubbard
